Paros is situated in the middle of the Cyclades Islands and constitutes a great choice if you are looking for a wonderful setting. Whether you are a lonely traveler, or you have company, the island of Paros offers something for everyone.

Getting there

By boat

Paros is connected with the ports of  Piraeus, Rafína, Lávrio and the rest of the Cyclades.

By air

You can reach Paros by aeroplane from the airports of Athens and Thessaloniki.

Paros has at its disposal several accommodation facilities, since it is one of the most cosmopolitan destinations in Greece. Naoussa and Parikia are the two big towns of the island that concentrate a great number of  luxury hotels, studios and apartments that  provide all modern amenities. Beaches

The bathers will find several beaches, for all tastes and preferences. Whether  you prefer a glamorous beach or a calm one, Paros is the location that you can find everything.

Golden Beach

Golden beach is one of the most famous beaches in the island of Paros. It is considered an ideal site for the lovers of surfing. It is a well-organized beach and the visitor can enjoy the smooth sand and the crystal clear water.

Santa Maria beach

This beach is located close to Naoussa. Actually, it isn’t only one beach but includes many other sandy beaches. There are many facilities such as umbrellas and sunbeds as well as sports activities for the most energetic visitors.

Pounda beach

If you are attracted by beach parties, the ideal location is Pounda beach. It is very popular, especially among young people who enjoy listening to loud music and love extreme sports.

Kolymbithres beach

This unique beach, is situated in the bay of Naoussa. What fascinates the visitor, is the formation of the rocks of the area. These rocks have created independent tiny “swimming pools”. The bathers can find sunbeds and umbrellas there. It is an ideal option for families with children.


Livadia beach

It is the most central beach in Paros and is divided in parts. Some of them are well-organized with satisfactory facilities, while some others are more isolated, offering calm and privacy.

Sightseeing

The Monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani


The Church was built in the 4th century AD and it is dedicated to Virgin Mary. It is considered the protector of Paros. Ekatontapiliani  means the church with the hundred gates and constitutes one of the most important Byzantine monuments in the whole Greece.

It is said that the Church was built by St Constantine after the death of his mother St. Helene. While she was travelling to the Holy Land of Palestine to find the Holy Cross, a storm brought St. Helene in Paros. She promised to the Virgin to build a church if her quest was successful.

Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Paros is situated in Parikia and hosts exhibits from the Monastery of Ekatontapyliani. Also the visitor can admire findings that were brought to light during excavations in Paros and Antiparos.

Byzantine Museum

It is located in in Parikia in the church of Ekatontapiliani. Important relics of the church, religious amphorae and heirlooms from the Byzantine Era can be found there.

Religious feasts

The feast of Panagia Ekatontapiliani  is held every year on the 15th of August.

Local products

* From the island’s vineyards comes from the exquisite wine which is rich and sweet in smell and taste.

* Mizithra is a soft white cheese that it is used in greek traditional salad instead of feta.
